The church should be the only club in the world that exists for the benefit of its non-members. You can’t get engaged with Jesus unless you get engaged with people in need. Become an instrument of God and with a few other people and surround someone who is experiencing a very tough time, minister Christ to that person by being an instrument of God.

If you want to learn more about how you and members of your church can become these agents of change, visit the Stand in the Gap Ministries Website.

Jesus never called us to simply be believers, Jesus calls us to be disciples. Disciples are people that do the work of the Master. If you want to fill the call to service, that missionary urge you may have, if you want to experience God, if you want to taste the grace of God, you need to connect yourself with an orphan, a person coming out of prison, a widow, or a child in foster care, and minister to someone who is going through a tragic transition in life. Be a burden bearer for someone who is burdened down.

Beyond nurturing the members of its church, the church of Acts reached out to widows. You undoubtedly have widows in your congregation. Be an agent in which these people can experience the love of God through you and you can fulfill your call to minister to to those that are transitioning to a life without the spouse that they have had for such a period of time and may be in need.

To learn more about how you can be an agent of Christ for widows in your congregation and community please visit the Stand in the Gap Ministries website.

Few transitions are more difficult than the transition of those coming out of prisons or jail. So often when people come out of prison, they have no one to help them. They can’t find jobs, housing or the necessities that they need to effectively transition back into society. Galatians 6:2 says “Bear ye one another’s burdens and so fulfill the call of Christ.” The call of the church is to start a movement that will provide intimacy and care for people such as these where they can meet God.

Please visit the Stand in the Gap Ministries Website to find out how you and your church can do more.
